How dance is beneficial for our health and fitness

Dance has a direct relation with our health and fitness. In fact, dance is one of the best exercises which we can do to keep ourselves fit. It facilitates good physical and mental health. There are different forms of dance like ballet, jazz, hip-hop, contemporary, zumba, belly-dance, aerobics, tap dance etc. Each dance form has its own benefits on our body. The focus of any dance form is on body movements and facial expressions because these two are used in dance to express.

Ballet Dance focusses on flexibility, strength and technique. Thus it helps you to be agile and makes your body more toned. You develop more strength when you stretch your body in ballet dance. Similarly, belly dance which originated in the middle east helps to reduce your belly fat. Belly fat is a common problem among people but if you practice belly dance it will tone the muscles around your stomach and will help you to get rid of excess fat around that area. In hip-hop dance, you need to make fast and strong body movements. It requires high energy levels. So, if you are a hip-hop dancer, your stamina will automatically increase.  Zumba dance is an exercise fitness programme specially recommended for people with busy lifestyles. Zumba helps in your overall fitness.

Dance not only helps you to become physically fit, it also helps you to achieve better mental health. These days people have stress- related issues due to hectic work schedule and unhealthy lifestyle. Through dance, they can relax. Dance also improves the concentration level because you have to listen and  follow the beats of music and move your body according to that. Sometimes dance also acts as a healer as it helps you to express yourself. It is a medium through which you can express your passions, pains and  desires without speaking.

Dance plays an important role in keeping us healthy. Best part of dance is that it is an entertaining form of exercise. Unlike, other exercises, you will not find it boring or tedious. Rather, you can enjoy it and the same time it will bring positive effects to your body and mind. So,  get enrolled in a dance class, start dancing and maintain your fitness through fun of dance.
